Tunnelling Conference 2023

The tunnelling conference run by the Australian and New Zealand Tunnelling Societies was a four-day event with a programme covering a broad range of technical topics. The Aotea Centre was an ideal venue to accommodate attendees and an array of exhibition stands.

Given that two significant tunnels were under construction in Tāmaki Makaurau – the City Rail Link and the Central Interceptor Wastewater Tunnel – the conference was timely,

The theme of the conference – Trends and Transitions in Tunnelling – was supported by four tikanga Māori themes. These were Manawaroa, Hongo, Tiaki and Anamata, and each played an important role in expressing the brand.

The logo graphic was used across applications as a brand marker for attendees. Clarity of design was important feature in a visually busy environment with a lot of foot traffic.

The project deliverables were: conference brand and conference website, prospectus, advertising, exhibition wayfinding, presentation screens and the gala dinner menu.
