Twenty years in the making, practical and hands on. An old head on young shoulders, eloquent and disciplined, experienced, business-led and outcome-focused. We’re a mid-sized agency, we live in the digital world and we create magical brand experiences.

We believe branding is a power for good, helping organisations to become more accountable, better employers and more responsible corporate citizens. Tikanga Māori

Kia ora

We’re still learning about the Māori side of our New Zealand culture.

It’s part of being a kiwi and living in Aotearoa. It locates us.

One thing we do know is that tikanga Māori should be part of the everyday, not an artefact to be wheeled out on ‘special’ occasions.

Does te reo Māori, icons, graphics, values and protocols only belong to brands for Māori organisations? The answer is no.

As a brand attribute tikanga Māori needs to be relevant, authentic and woven into the brand’s fabric. This is something we achieve with the guidance of our ngā kaitiaki.

How we work 

We’re fairly process driven, but never at the expense of creativity. Good processes mean we get the information we need, which enables us to create and execute with confidence and produce re marque-able results.

We refer to our branding process as the 4Ds which gets us from research and developing the brand strategy, to design and implementation.

Rummaging around and finding out stuff about the past, the future, plans, hunches, dreams and the competition.

Whiteboard sessions, focus groups, one-on-one interviews, site visits, brand assessments, visual audits, competitor and market analysis.

Distilling complexity, joining stuff together, rendering, shaping, polishing and revealing the brand’s truth.

Brand strategy – purpose, values, behaviours, personality, essence, positioning, value proposition; brand story and promotional strategies.

Creating a visual expression of the brand that captures its essence, articulates its truth and looks pretty damn good.

Visual identity system – brand name, logo, colour palette, typography, photography style, secondary graphics and language.

Liberating the brand to take on the world, seduce customers, bury the competition and exceed business objectives.
